My Creative Time 79th Edition "7 Year Anniversary Release Blog Hop!!

Hi my crafty friends and welcome back!! I hope you made your way from the super talented KENDRA's blog.  If not, that's ok. You can find the full list of blog hoppers HERE!! Today is the day we get to party and celebrate this awesome release!!  And remember, there is also a sale going on right now!!! It's My Creative Time's Birthday but you get the sweet gifts :)

Today, I'm featuring the brand new Circle Border Die!  I am in love with both of the new Border Dies being released today!

I used this die to create a gate-fold card with amazing detail created by the die.

This may look a little daunting but trust me, this die makes it SO EASY!!  My cardstock was an 8.5 X 5.5 inch piece.  By simply scoring at 2 1/8 of an inch on either side (on the long side), you get two flaps that meet evenly in the middle.  Then, all you have to do is line up the die to the edge of the flap and run through your die cutting machine!  Boom! Done!!

You could easily feed some pretty ribbon through the holes to keep the card shut but I chose to make a belly band using some vellum.  All I did was wrap a strip around the card, making sure it was slightly loose and adhered the two ends.  Because I didn't want the inside sentiment to be seen, I used the Vintage Stitched Label Die  on both the inside and outside.

The beautiful sentiment is from the Fun Notes Stamp and Die Set.  To embellish the belly band, I used the Dragonfly from the Pretty Butterflies and Dragonfly Dies and cut it from some silver glitter paper!

I should mention that I used patterned paper on the inside as well as the outside flaps.  I hope this gives you an idea on how versatile this die really is!  I had so much fun making this card and love the way it turned out!!

Here's a look at everything being released today:

Craftin Desert Divas "Flashback"!

Hello CDD fans and welcome back!! I'm here today to share a card made using "older" stamps and dies from Craftin Desert Divas!  It's always nice to go through your stash and find a set that's a bit older but still totally awesome.  Speaking of "totally", I used the Greeting Word Die Set which happens to have this word in it!!  I have never come across this in any other company. And the font is fabulous!

This set was released a couple of years ago and I love it! I haven't used it in awhile but this was the perfect time.  For the images, I used the Tickled Pink stamp set. Again, this set was released awhile ago but is still fun and trendy. Who doesn't love a beach bound flamingo??

I stamped, coloured and fussy cut my images out, then planned the scene I was going to create.  I die cut a circle from the Stitched in Circles Die Set and did a bit of messy ink blending with Mermaid Lagoon Distress Ink.  I wasn't concerned with getting a smooth blend as the "patchiness" gives the look of clouds.

As you can see, I changed my mind.  I decided to ink blend directly on a panel cut from the Fancy Frames Die Set.  I used the negative space from the circle die cut as a quick and easy mask.

Now, this is where I cheated a bit.  I could not resist using the brand new Beach Scene Dies on this scene!!  I die cut the "sand" and umbrella and used Distress Inks to give them colour.

Before adhering everything to the die cut panel, I did some masking of the sentiment with washi tape to break it up into two separate stamps.

I adhered everything to a kraft card base with a combination of liquid glue and foam adhesive.

Of course I stamped "fabulous" a little crooked but I went with it!

A little Wink of Stella and Glossy Accents add a bit of sparkle and shine to different areas of the images.

I hope you enjoyed this "look back" at some of the older products that are available in the shop!!

My Creative Time "7 Year Anniversary" Release Sneak Peek Day 4!!

It's the last day of our Sneak Peeks for the My Creative Time Anniversary Release!!  Tomorrow is the big release day and blog hop.  I hope you're ready :)

Keeping with the birthday theme and adding to Cake Die we featured yesterday, we are showing you the most adorable die.

A note on this die...this will be a freebie if you happen to be one of the first 50 shoppers!  But no fear, it will be available to purchase if you are not one of the lucky shoppers.  Shop Early is my advice. More details will be below..

This is the Mini Cake Die!  A smaller version of the Cake Die we revealed yesterday.

I think this would make the cutest little tag for a gift or even as a party favour. I think it would look great as a cupcake topper or attached to drinking straws!  I, of course, made a card but let your imagination run wild with this cute yet mighty die!!

I cut three cakes along with their "icing layers" and candles.  I quickly used some Copic markers to add a little colour.  I embossed the white panel with a really fun embossing folder and added the sentiment to a banner from the Trio Stitched Banner Dies. The sentiment is from the new Time to Celebrate Stamp Set from yesterday's sneak peek!! Cute right?

I used a white gel pen to add few details to the icing and added some clear sequins to finish of this card.

I cannot wait to keep playing with this super cute die!!  Now, here are a few details on how to get this die...

My Creative Time "7 Year Anniversary" Release Sneak Peek Day 3!!

Welcome back!!  Have you guys been enjoying these peeks?!  All the DT ladies are coming up with some incredible projects, right?!

Today is super exciting. We have a stamp set and a die to show you today and you are going to LOVE IT!!! This die is amazing and so much fun!!

Because this is Emma's birthday month, we can't have a party without cake, right?  So, here it is, the new Time to Celebrate Stamp Set and The new Cake Die!!!

I do not bake. Honestly, I'm a serious disaster in the kitchen. So "making" a cake like this is right up my alley!

Look at this!! This card is your standard 4.25 X 5.5 inch card and that die fills it up!! Isn't it fabulous?!  To dress up make cake a little bit more, I used a couple flowers and leaves from the Stitched Pretty Flowers and Leaves Die Set.  You could make this cake as fancy or funky as you would like by just adding simple shapes. Or patterned paper!!

I had some negative die cuts from the Circle Border Die (that we peeked at yesterday) so I inked those up and used them along the side of the card for a little more pattern and dimension!  The sentiment is from the Time to Celebrate Stamp Set and stamped on one of the Ribbon End Dies which was trimmed to fit the card.  This sentiment set is cute and funny!  There are tons of sentiments that are meant to go on the inside of the card as well, I love that!!

You can really let your creativity shine with a die like this and the new stamp set will be all you ever need for your B-Day cards!!

My Creative Time "7 Year Anniversary" Sneak Peek Day Two!

Are you ready for another incredible sneak peek??!  Silly question. I know you are!!  Today, we are showing you a look at another awesome border die.  Yesterday, it was flowers. Today it's all about my favourite shape...the circle!!

I mentioned yesterday that these dies take all the guesswork out of partial die cutting on your cards. Which is a huge time saver!! I used this die to create a panel for the front of my card.

I kept this card very clean and simple as I wanted the die to be the star of the show!!  And don't forget about all those little negative die cuts!!  I inked them up with rainbow colours of Distress Inks and popped them back into place!! Ao fun!!

The sentiment comes from the You Are Spot On Stamp and Die Set which co-ordinates perfectly with this new die!!!  And true to form, I had a stamping boo-boo so had to restamp on one of the Bunch of Fun Circle Dies and add it to the card :)

I added a few sequins for a little sparkle on this very clean, simple yet happy card!!

My Creative Time "7 Year Anniversary" Release Sneak Peek Day One!!!

Hello friends and welcome back!! Today is the first day of Sneaky Peeks for My Creative Time!!  This release is extra special because Emma is celebrating 7 Years of having her shop! Isn't that awesome?! I've been a fan for about 4 of those years which is when I "really" got serious about this hobby :)!!  It's also her birthday month but shhhh, I didn't tell you that!

This is release is SO much fun!!  And totally unique! You are going to love it!

Today, we are taking a peek at the new Flower Border Die. This die is so incredibly pretty. What I love the most about this die is that it takes the guesswork out of that tricky little technique called Partial Die cutting!  I've often tried to get a nice border on the edge of a card and always ended up cutting the wrong side or having to use a craft knife to complete certain cuts!  You don't have to worry with this die!!

I decided to make a baby card today.  These I usually make as needed but I thought this die would be perfect for one!!

I die cut the bottom front flap of the card base using the die.  It's as easy as lining it up at the edge of the cardstock!! And look at the result...gorgeous!  The die set also comes with a separate flower die, which I used on some patterned paper and simply layered them.  This die set is so well thought out that Emma included 7 tiny flower centres!! This mean you don't have to run one little die through numerous times, one pass and you're done!!! Genius!!

To dress things up a little bit, I added some pink ribbon just above the die cut border.  Of course it needed some butterflies and those are from Pretty Butterflies and Dragonfly Dies and were cut from the same patterned paper I used on the flowers.

The sentiment is from the Vintage Sentiments Stamp set  and was stamped on the Vintage Stitched Label Dies. Confession time:  I just recently purchased the Vintage Sentiments and dies and I'm obsessed. I apologize if you see them frequently:)

I added a few confetti embellishments and some glitter pen to the butterflies! Oh, how I love this die!!

Tag It Tuesday with My Creative Time!

Hello crafty friends and welcome back!! Today, I'm sharing a tag using fabulous products from My Creative Time!! With Mother's Day quickly approaching, I decided to make a tag that I can attach to the gift I buy for my mom!

It's starting to feel a bit like spring here in Manitoba, finally!  Even though the temperatures may be getting warmer, it's not very pretty outside.  We desperately need some rain to wash away the dirtiness left by winter and get the leaves and grass growing again!  So, I had to use bright and cheery colours on my tag today!!

One of the best and most creative tag die sets I own is the Tag Dies and Tag Dies Layers sets. Each one can stand on their own, but together, they are awesome!!!

To embellish the tag, I used the Flower Petal Dies and the Stitched Leaves Dies.  I chose bright colours of cardstock and lightly inked the edges with a similar coloured ink.

I partially inked a sentiment from the Mom stamp set and stamped it across the "love" die cut window.  This was tricky as I had already adhered the flowers so I couldn't use my Misti...oops! Thankfully, it turned out okay.  After looping the bakers twine through the tag, I decided to add a few heart die cuts that come from the new Kindess stamp and die set. I used the same cardstock as the base layer tag.

I hope you liked my project for today!! Thank you, as always, for stopping in!!

Until next time...stay crafty!!

Laurie
